Hostinger Office Welcomed Students During the First Open Door Day

On April 14th, we organized our first Open Door Day after what seemed to be a century of sitting in a virtual background and starting every meeting with the words “Can everybody hear me and see my screen?” The experience became undeniably real as students’ steps filled the staircase leading to the top floors of the River Hall building in Kaunas. Fueled by curiosity and growth opportunities, two groups started their journey into IT.

It took less than 5 minutes for all likeness to a formal working environment to be thrown out of one (of the many) floor-length company windows: a purple ball pit, solar lamp-heated hammock, unconventional meeting rooms, and creative resting areas soon became the new normal and willfully attainable. However, the company’s backbone lay beneath the welcoming office facade – it’s Hostinger’s culture and values. Students learned the company’s success story and its ten principles that have influenced every major decision in the past 17 years.

The event proceeded with members of the People and Training teams sharing their personal experiences and the first steps of building a career – the Customer Success Specialist role. Here, participants could listen to the Talent Acquisition Partner, Agnete, discuss the process from early recruitment stages to maximizing one’s potential and raising career goals. The recruiter, herself, comes from a tourism background, so taking a chance and diving into a challenging and ever-changing field, in her words, resembles an adventure no less thrilling than the one a first-time traveler takes when boarding a plane. Agnete was accompanied by an online pop-in by the Training Team lead Abhijeet and members of the Customer Success Billings, Websites, and Account teams.

Finally, what better way to start a career than to jump right into it? Hostinger Open Door Day concluded with students from 19 different study programs participating in a shadowing session and afterward joining a conversation-filled pizza lunch.
